My favorite movement is Contrology.

I feel my absolute best when I practice several days a week. It is my body that always lets me know when it’s time to return to my practice if I get off track.

To me, it's a way of life.

I’ve learned so much about my body from Contrology, and what I am capable of beyond the studio. I love to cycle, skate, ski, swim, camp, hike, garden, and read (fun fact: Joseph Pilates made an eye chart to train the eye muscles!) And, I have lots of energy left over to be present for my work, friends, family and of course, my magnificent Chihuahua named Pablo.

I DISCOVER WHO I AM.

Wonderful things spring forth from my practice. The principles of Contrology continue to remind me how to interact positively with the world and take each day as it comes—learning to be calm, patient, and gentle with myself is not easy, but with Contrology, there is hope. From years of practicing, I know what I like and what is essential to help me feel my best.

It is an honor.

As a second-generation teacher of Joseph Pilates' work, it’s my absolute privilege to practice and share my knowledge of Contrology as I’ve learned from my teacher, Jay Grimes, a student of Mr. Pilates. I uphold the legacy of Jay Grimes and Vintage Pilates in my work, as it has been so graciously shared with me. As a perpetual student, I continue to study with world-renowned teachers such as Lori Coleman-Brown and Teresa Shupe at Atlas Pilates in Seattle and bring my new learning back to the students.

I am grateful for the opportunity to provide a space for people to explore the work of Joseph Pilates. It is the work itself that changes us for the better, and I am only a guide for others on their journey.

Contrology brings change to the body, but it takes courage to start.
