Practicing Contrology has been my primary form of movement training for the past 20 years.

I feel my absolute best when I practice several days a week, and my body always lets me know when it’s time to return to my practice.

to me, it is a lifestyle.

By consistently practicing Contrology, I can be active and enjoy the things I love doing outside the physical studio, such as cycling, skating, skiing, swimming, camping, hiking, gardening, and reading (fun fact: Joseph Pilates has an Eye Chart to train even our eye muscles), and spending quality time with my husband Paul, two sons, Joseph and James, and Pablo, our magnificent Chihuahua.

My practice helps me interact positively with the world and avoid feeling overwhelmed. It has taught me to be calm, patient and gentle with myself. From years of practicing, I know what I like and what is essential to help me feel my best. And, as a self-proclaimed minimalist, I value the gift of time.

As a second-generation teacher, it’s my absolute privilege to pass along the way of contrology to others, as I’ve learned from my teacher, Jay Grimes, a student of Joseph Pilates. I uphold the legacy of Jay Grimes and Vintage Pilates in my work as it has been so graciously shared with me. As a perpetual student, I continue to study with world-renowned teachers.

I am thankful daily for my students who put their trust in exploring the work of Joseph Pilates. It is the work itself that changes us for the better.

My mantra is “Keep moving; you will always feel better.”
